In 1989 the Institute of Research and Development for the Rural Poor-Trust was founded by Dr. Irudayasamy. It was committed to helping vulnerable people in need. In the first year, our NGO was registered under Indian Trust Act and under Foreign Contribution Regulation Act.
With the support of donors and co-workers, our organization has grown to help the vulnerable communities around the city of Chennai in India.
It is recognized for its charitable work by the Indian government. IRDRP implements its programs and actions to beneficiaries, public and private partners, donators and volunteers. IRDRP is also authorized to receive donations and legacies.
Most of the projects are located in the geographical rural areas. IRDRP performs a very important role in the social life of villages and rural communities since 20 years, promoting a whole range of activities and projects in these areas.
Our projects aim at assisting, victims and strengthening the capabilities of mothers, families, villages and public services in the field of vulnerable people protection. IRDRP always works together with local associations, authorities, communities and families.
